WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp. said Monday that 35 of its stores will open in India over the next five years under a new development deal with franchisee Bedrock Food Co.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The stores will open in various locations, including Delhi, Jaipur and Lucknow.
"Coffee and doughnuts as a category has huge potential in India and we expect the market to grow quickly over the next few years," Bedrock Managing Director Purwa Sinha said in a statement.
Bedrock is a licensed franchisee of Krispy Kreme for the North India region.
Krispy Kreme, based in Winston-Salem, N.C., has more than 690 stores in 21 countries.
