EMERYVILLE, Calif. (AP) — Peet's Coffee & Tea Inc. has named former Weight Watchers executive Dave Burwick as its new president and chief executive.
Burwick will take on the role as head of the coffee chain on Dec. 31. He will succeed Patrick O'Dea, who is stepping down after more than 10 years as president and CEO. O'Dea will continue to serve the company as a member of the board of directors.
Burwick worked most recently as President of North America for Weight Watchers International. Prior to Weight Watchers, he served for more than 20 years at PepsiCo in senior executive roles.
Peet's, based in Emeryville, Calif., was taken private by a German conglomerate in July for approximately $977.6 million.
