Due to the heat wave that hit the U.S. west coast this year, the California grape harvest is coming in early this year, meaning vinyards are scrambling to pick the region's highly touted grapes after temperatures hit heights not seen since 1997. Michael Silacci, winemaker at Opus One in Napa Valley, said,

"It has been a challenging year. But it's shaping up to be an excellent year."
