Meat Snack Producer to Expand Va. Facility, Create 200 Jobs

A manufacturer of value-added processed meats is planning to expand its meat snacks production operation in Henry County, creating 200 jobs. Monogram Food Solutions will invest nearly $36.5 million in the expansion.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A manufacturer of value-added processed meats is planning to expand its meat snacks production operation in Henry County, creating 200 jobs.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe said Wednesday that Monogram Food Solutions will invest nearly $36.5 million in the expansion. Virginia successfully competed against two other states for the project.

Memphis, Tennessee-based Monogram has operated a plant in Henry County since 2009 and currently employs 470 there. The plant makes brands including Wild Bill's, Trail's Best, and Bass Pro Shops' Uncle Buck's.

McAuliffe approved a $400,000 grant from the Governor's Opportunity Fund for the project. The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission also approved $835,000 in funding.
