ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. (AP) -- A state official says Nestle Nutrition plans to phase out nearly 250 jobs as it prepares to shut down its St. Louis Park plant by the end of next year.
The state Department of Employment and Economic Development says Nestle filed a notice regarding the closure on Friday.
KSTP-TV says the first phase of layoffs is scheduled to begin June 30. A DEED spokesman says he's not sure how many of the plant's 243 jobs will be cut then.
The plant is set to close by December 2012.
