DANVILLE, Va. (AP) -- Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. is increasing production at its plant in Danville and recalling laid-off workers.
Goodyear says the plant will return to a four-shift, seven-day operation schedule.
Last year, Goodyear reduced the plant's operation to a three-shift, five-day schedule. About 400 workers lost their jobs through layoffs and buyouts.
Goodyear-Danville spokesman Jo Andrews says the timelines for the schedule change are being determined.
Andrews says the market for aircraft and truck tires produced by the plant has improved.
