KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Car parts maker PBR has told employees of its Knox County plant the facility will be closed by the end of next year.
The Knoxville News Sentinel quoted a spokeswoman for PBR's parent company, The Bosch Group, saying the shutdown will come in phases, beginning the middle of 2010.
About 250 workers will lose their jobs at the plant in WestBridge Business Park
Bosch spokeswoman Becky MacDonald said the closing is because of slumping car sales.
