About 250 workers will lose their jobs when car parts maker PBR closes its plant in Knoxville, Tenn., by the end of next year.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Car parts maker PBR has told employees of its Knox County plant the facility will be closed by the end of next year.

The Knoxville News Sentinel quoted a spokeswoman for PBR's parent company, The Bosch Group, saying the shutdown will come in phases, beginning the middle of 2010.
