RV Maker To Expand Indiana Plant

Riverside Travel Trailer said it would spend more than $1.1 million on new equipment and upgrades to its plant in Peru and potentially add 100 jobs.

PERU, Ind. (AP) -- A company that makes towable recreational vehicles has announced plans to expand its operations in northern Indiana and potentially add 100 jobs.

Riverside Travel Trailer Inc. said Wednesday it would spend more than $1.1 million on new equipment and upgrades to its plant in Peru. Riverside took over the former Adventure Manufacturing Inc. factory in June and now has about 30 workers.

Riverside vice president Mark Gerber says the expansion is being done as the RV business is entering a recovery phase after being hit hard by the recession.

The company anticipates doubling its workforce by the middle of next year and adding all the new jobs by 2011.
