Steel Company To Open Miss. Plant

G&G Steel plans to open a facility in Iuka, Miss., for fabricating bridge parts, eventually creating as many as 140 jobs.

IUKA, Miss. (AP) -- A Russellville, Ala., company plans to open a Tishomingo County facility for fabricating bridge parts, eventually creating as many as 140 jobs.

G&G Steel owners Bret and Danny Gist say, however, it will likely be several months before production can actually begin at the new facility.

Tishomingo County officials confirmed Thursday that the G&G Steel would locate in the Tri-State Commerce Park near Iuka.

Bret Gist said the location will allow the company to take advantage of the nearby waterway to transport finished products on the Tennessee River.

He said large-scale designs started in Russellville can be completed at the Mississippi plant and shipped by river.
