SPRING HILL, Tenn. (AP) -- The General Motors Corp. plant in Spring Hill, Tenn., will suspend production for two more weeks in March because of slow sales.
The plant that makes the new Chevrolet Traverse comes back online Feb. 9 from a shutdown of more than a month and stays open until March 2. It then shuts down again until March 16.
GM spokeswoman Kate Neary tells The Daily Herald of Columbia she doesn't know how many jobs will be affected. Plant officials said in December the plant employed 3,481 people.
Neary says permanent job losses at the plant aren't up for discussion at this time.
