Daktronics Digital Billboard Plant Increases Production

Scoreboard and video display maker is adding a shift to its Sioux Falls plant so it can produce about 25 percent more digital billboards.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Scoreboard and video display maker Daktronics is adding a shift to its Sioux Falls plant so it can produce about 25 percent more digital billboards.

The Brookings-based company says the expansion to its 120,000-square-foot plant will bring its total Sioux Falls manufacturing work force to about 180.

Daktronics began production in Sioux Falls in the fall of 2006.

The company has installed more than 600 digital billboards nationwide, and company officials say the industry segment has been growing in the U.S. and overseas.

About 15 percent of Daktronics' annual revenue is from digital billboard sales.
