Westlake Chemical investing $90 million to expand production of chlor-alkali and PVC resin at its Calvert City, Ky., plant.

HOUSTON (AP) — Westlake Chemical Corp. said Monday it plans to invest $90 million to expand production of chlor-alkali and PVC resin at its Calvert City, Ky., plant.

The expansion will also include the construction of a PVC pipe plant at the same facility. The moves will reduce cost by placing end-product production near where the materials are generated, the company said.
