Ford Employee Killed In Plant Accident

WAYNE, Mich. (AP) — A 17-year employee of Ford Motor Co. died after an accident Monday morning at the automaker's Wayne Stamping and Assembly plant, which produces the Focus small car, the company said.
 
Robert Conley, 48, of Manchester, was a maintenance supervisor in the plant's final assembly area, spokeswoman Anne Marie Gattari said.
 
''He was highly regarded by his peers and management and will be missed,'' she said.
 
The day shift at the plant, located about 16 miles southwest of Detroit, was canceled after the accident.
 
Dearborn-based Ford was working with authorities investigating the accident.
