The FDA said it will hold two public meetings regarding recent outbreaks of foodborne illness associated with contaminated fresh produce.
The first meeting will be March 20, at the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building in Oakland, CA. The registration deadline is March 12.
The second meeting will be April 13, at the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition in College Park, Maryland. The deadline to register is April 6.
Some of the topics that will be covered include determining risks for contamination, changing current practices to reduce contamination risks, how sampling and testing are conducted and what new types of federal actions are necessary, if any.
