Commerce Deputy Secretary Announces Grant For Wayne, NY

$1.2 million grant will upgrade waste water treatment system, bring jobs.

U.S. Commerce Deputy Secretary David A. Sampson and U.S. Representative Jim Walsh Tuesday announced a $1.2 million Economic Development Administration (EDA) investment for the Wayne County Industrial Development Agency of Wayne County, NY.

The investment is for an upgrade to the wastewater treatment system to serve Garlock Sealing Technologies and other manufacturing companies, as well as future commercial growth. It is expected to create 1,050 jobs and $37 million in private investment.

“Through economic development grants like these, the Commerce Department will continue to encourage investments in local areas, grow the economy and create jobs,” Sampson said.
