Brady Corp. Expanding Manufacturing Base In Asia

Brady Corp. is expanding two manufacturing facilities and opening a new facility in Asia.

Brady Corp., a maker of identification products for the manufacturing industry, said it expanded its manufacturing operations near Bangkok, Thailand and in Penang, Malaysia. The company has also opened a new manufacturing center and shared services center in Bangalore, India.

The new Thailand facility will manufacture precision die-cut and stamped parts, as well as labels for the hard-disk-drive industry and related manufacturers.

Brady currently employs about 300 people in Thailand.

The new Penang facility houses manufacturing of high-performance labels and die-cut materials, as well as engineering and assembly of portable printers and cartridges for the Asian, European and U.S. markets. The Penang facility has about 145 employees.

Brady plans to continue to support its growth in the region with additional expansions in China and Japan in 2007.

The Bangalore facility will focus on high performance labels and die-cut materials for the mobile phone and portable electronics industries.
