Cisco Chooses India For Globalization Center

Wim Elfrink also selected as chief globalization officer.

Cisco Systems, Inc. said Wednesday it has selected India as its site for Cisco Globalization Center East. It also has selected Wim Elfrink as chief globalization officer.

“For Cisco, globalization is about the potential to transform industries on a global scale by extending new business models to our ecosystem of innovative customers and partners,” said Elfrink.

Prior to be selected CGO, Elfrink served as Senior Vice President of Customer Advocacy since 2000. The customer advocacy division includes three businesses: technical services, remote operations services and advanced services.

Cisco’s first operations in India started in 1995 and it employs over 2000 people today in its global R&D center in Bangalore and its sales offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkatta, Pune, Hyderabad and Colombo, Sri Lanka.
