Plastex Unveils Herongripa Matting For Food Processing Plants

New matting is resistant to animal fats, has anti-fatigue benefit and helps prevent falls.

Plastex Matting Thursday introduced its Herongripa matting specifically designed for use in food processing facilities.

“Herongripa is an excellent solution for food processing plants, especially those where meats and poultry are processed,” said Peter O’Sullivan, sales director for Plastex.  “It is designed with worker safety in mind, as it is highly resistant to animal fats, provides a high level of anti-fatigue benefit and helps prevent falls.”

According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), “Animal fat, when allowed to accumulate on floors to dangerous levels, and blood, leaking pipes, and poor drainage are the major contributors to treacherously slippery floors.”

Herongripa is made from durable and easy to clean PVC-based extruded plastic. It has a wide-spaced open grid design that allows waste to pass through, which keeps the standing area free of slippery debris.

Herongripa is easy to cut, lays 5/8 of an inch above the surface and can contour to uneven floors.  It is available in 33 foot rolls with widths of two, three and four feet and weighs approximately 13 oz. per square foot.
