Sparky’s Homemade Ice Cream in Missouri was asked to stop selling its cicada ice cream, despite the fact it was wildly popular with customers. The treat debuted June 1 and sold out within hours. Cicadas were collected by shop employees, who removed most of the wings, boiled the insects and coated them in brown sugar and chocolate.
