The world's largest shipper of cargo containers is once again able to book orders online in the wake of a massive global cyberattack.
A.P. Moller-Maersk reported early Tuesday that the attack affected its IT systems at "multiple sites and business units," including container shipping giant Maersk Line.
Bloomberg reported that the Danish conglomerate shut down numerous systems to help contain the attack. Maersk Line reportedly was unable to accept bookings but indicated that its ships were operational and its crews safe.
On Wednesday, however, the company said that it could accept bookings through existing accounts on online shipping marketplace INTTRA.
"Booking confirmation will take a little longer than usual but we are delighted to carry your cargo," the company wrote on Twitter. "We are still working on resuming normal operation, but we will keep you informed."
The hack was reportedly similar to the WannaCry ransomware attack that spread across the world in May. Bloomberg reported that hackers demanded $300 in order to restore the locked systems of companies and government agencies.
