Natural Cleaner Manufacturer Cuts Delivery Times with Smarter Planning

Ymani Efunyale started making her own cleaning product after her toddler experienced a bad asthma attack triggered by a store-bought cleaner. Today, she ships her products all over the US—and here’s how she manages it all.

Good Vibes Clean is a Philadelphia-based manufacturer of plant-based cleaning products that are inspired by the smell of incense.

Founder Ymani Efunyale started making her own cleaning products in 2006, after her toddler son had accidentally sprayed a cleaning product in his mouth, triggering an asthma attack. For the first 10 years, she kept her product to herself until a friend suggested she make one that smells like sandalwood. Efunyale then created a formula for an all-purpose cleaner and found that it worked exceptionally well. She founded her own business soon thereafter, starting to sell her products online in 2017.

Business took off quicker than expected, and suddenly, Efunyale was constantly fighting fires related to raw material shortages. Often, there was a backlog of orders because production was waiting for the materials to arrive.

“Stockouts became a recurring problem as things were growing and moving really fast,” Efunyale says.

Finding an affordable and scalable system

Good Vibes Clean desperately needed software to help track both raw material inventory and finished goods. At first, Efunyale opted for a manufacturing inventory management software, and it worked well for her operation—until they increased their prices.

“They suddenly hiked their prices, by a lot,” she says. “I could no longer afford it, so I went without a system for a little while.”

After struggling with no system for the better part of a year, Efunyale found MRPeasy, a manufacturing ERP software that promised a balance of affordability, user-friendliness, and power. She started a free trial, watched a few demo videos, and liked what she saw.

“What I found with MRPeasy was that it met my needs at the time, but it also has the capabilities to support me as I scale,” she says.

Easy production and purchase planning

Today, the system supports not just Efunyale’s daily operations, but long-term business needs, making it simple to introduce new products, customize bills of materials, manage inventory, and keep everything in sync across platforms.

“Now, when I add a new scent, I only have to add the new fragrance oil to the configurable BOM,” she says. ”Everything else stays the same and automatically updates across the board. That saves a ton of time.”

The implementation helped Efunyale establish a smooth and efficient workflow for managing production and inventory. Generating manufacturing orders became straightforward and integrated easily into daily operations.

“Managing manufacturing orders is effortless now,” Efunyale maintains. “After an order is put in, everything can be tracked and checked off as we go.”

After each shipment cycle, the team reviews inventory and creates purchase orders based on real-time stock levels. This ensures that production stays on schedule and materials are always available for production.

“I really like how easy it is to generate and send out purchase orders,” Efunyale says.

Improved inventory management enables faster shipping

Inventory visibility is further increased by the system showing precisely what is needed to fulfill upcoming orders and how much of a product can be made with the materials currently in stock.

“I also love the integration with Shopify, which updates inventory as orders come in,” she comments.

The operational improvements brought by MRPeasy also have a clear impact on customer experience. With better material planning and inventory control, the business is able to fulfill orders more quickly and reliably.

“MRPeasy allows me to ship products faster because I can better forecast what we’re going to need,” Efunyale maintains. “That’s the biggest benefit for my customers—quicker delivery times.”

MRPeasy marks a turning point

Looking back, implementing MRPeasy marked a turning point for Good Vibes Clean. While the initial setup required a bit of effort, the long-term payoff in control, speed, and peace of mind has been worth it.

“The hardest part is loading all your data: raw materials, inventory, product details. That part takes time and effort, but once it's done, learning the system is actually pretty easy,” Efunyale says.

For other small manufacturers feeling overwhelmed by manual tracking or out-of-date spreadsheets, the recommendation is clear: don’t wait.

“I would definitely recommend MRPeasy to others, especially if they’re facing the same growing pains I had. The sooner you do it, the easier it will be to grow.”
