Confocal Chromatic Sensors
The confocal-chromatic measurement system, confocalDT, consists of a controller with a LED-light source and a sensor. Both, the sensor and the controller are connected via optical fiber up to 50 m. The distance of the focal point varies due to the chromatic aberration of the sensor optic. A certain distance is assigned to each wavelength in the controller. The reflected light from the target surface is passed to the receiver optics, where the spectral intensity dispersion is evaluated. This unique measuring principle enables displacements and distances to be measured with the highest precision.
