IMPO's Photo of the Day: Boeing's Final Air Force Delivery of 2014

2014 was a good year for Boeing Co. The company reported that during 2014 it took orders for 1,432 planes with a total value of $232.7 billion, setting a record for aircraft orders and deliveries.

This photo shows Boeing’s delivering the final C-17 Globemaster III cargo jet manufactured for the U.S. Air Force. However, the majority of orders this year did not come from military orders. Approximately two-thirds of deliveries and three-fourths of orders were for Boeings 737 jet, designed for medium length flights around the world.

Another driving factor for the airplane manufacturer’s success was the 787 Dreamliners model. Boeing reported 114 deliveries of Dreamliners this past year.

With such success in 2014, Boeing can only hope to keep the momentum going into 2015.
