Longtime Nissan executive Carlos Ghosn has faced a dramatic fall from grace.
Accused of underreporting his income, he was arrested in Japan and sat under house arrest for months awaiting trial.
In a dramatic turn of events, he managed to escape Japan and return to his native Lebanon.
Nine months later, Ghosn announced a new venture: a partnership with the business school of USEK, a college north of Beirut.
His university program, according to Reuters, will focus on executive coaching, business technology training, and helping start-ups with job creation.
At a press conference announcing the program, Ghosn stressed the initiative’s role in the “restoration of confidence” in Lebanon’s battered economy.
He hopes to offer practical help while drawing on his business acumen and experience.
Other industry leaders have reportedly offered to give pro bono instructions, including Jaguar and Land Rover CEO Thierry Bolloré.
