Assured Automation Announces Compact Motorized Ball Valves for HVAC Applications
SM Series Ball Valve features unique “Sure Mount” system for quick actuator removal at an economical price
April 30, 2015-CLARK, N.J. — Assured Automation announces the addition of the SM Series to their Compact Automated Valve line. This series features “Sure Mount” actuated brass ball valves with compact electric actuators offering a low cost, compact, HVAC valve solution. For use in residential and commercial HVAC applications, these brass and lead free brass automated ball valves are available in sizes 1/2" to 2".
The SM Series quarter turn ball valve features a simple 1 Clip-pin actuator mounting system which offers outstanding stability and eliminates the cost, weight and installation time required by other valve-actuator mounting systems which typically require brackets and multiple fasteners.
“Building Maintenance Engineers have been impressed with the unique direct mount system and ease of removing and replacing electric actuators” reports Mike ONeill of Assured Automation. “The SM Series has made it easy to do field actuator maintenance and the emergency manual override is seen as an added bonus as it requires no extra tools other than a wrench and screwdriver.”
The addition of a parabolic disc to the full port ball valve converts this valve from a standard on/off ball valve to an extremely precise flow control valve. The disc or “flow optimizing trim” makes the percentage of maximum flow increase evenly with direct relation to the percentage of the 90° rotation. This precise flow control saves thousands of dollars by reducing energy costs to maintain building temperature.
The actuators are one size, fitting all valve line sizes, which simplifies and reduces inventory levels and reduces overall project costs. The On/Off actuators are available in 12VDC, 24VAC or 24VDC. The Modulating units are available with 0-10VDC or 4-20mA control signals.
Typical Applications include chilled and hot water coils for residential and commercial applications, recycled water coils for air treatment systems, water coils for instantaneous production of hot water, static climate mixing circuits for heating systems, and convective and radiant cooling.
