Company has introduced a new design for its Mosaic Compact machine vision inspection system – Mosaic Compact 2.0. This new design features a smaller footprint and improvements to the system design that make cleaning and maintenance even easier than before. Utilizing the same unique paneling technology as the full size Mosaic, the Mosaic Compact is able to perform high-speed label inspections on round, un-oriented products, including graphical identification, barcode reading, OCR and OCV, all of which lead to mislabeling prevention.
The Mosaic Compact utilizes the same vision technology as CI-Vision's Mosaic systems that are installed and operating in dozens of production facilities around the world. Unlike other 360º vision systems which rely on stitching technology to perform label inspections—which requires careful (and complicated) calibrations and can result in poor image quality along stitching lines––all Mosaic systems utilize a different, more efficient method which produces more accurate results.
For many manufacturers, space on the production line can be at a premium, and it can be difficult to add vision inspection equipment into the production process. The Mosaic Compact's small footprint enables it to fit into tight spaces on the production line, enabling manufacturers to install the system where it can be most effective rather than where they can find the free space. In addition, the Mosaic Compact 2.0 freestanding tunnel design does not require breaking into existing production lines, since the system fits around an existing conveyor and can be connected to existing rejection mechanisms.
The Mosaic Compact 2.0 runs on the latest CI-Vision inspection software, CIVCore® 11, giving users access to the newest, most effective inspection tools in the industry. The CIVCore 11 redesigned touchscreen interface allows users to view real time statistics and data on the system's performance. That same interface simplifies product changeovers, requiring only a few screen touches to pull up the product profile, load it, and start the system running again. The Mosaic Compact 2.0 is even available with optional motorized camera adjustments, allowing hands-off set-up of the system for products of different sizes. Most importantly, the Mosaic Compact 2.0 has been designed with the future in mind: CIVCore is built to allow for easy setup of new inspections, and the system's design makes it easily redeployable to a variety of production lines.
