Parker’s Electromechanical Automation Division is pleased to announce the first phase of its latest machine controller. The controller, also known as the Global PAC, is a complete motion control solution that combines the features and capabilities of a motion controller with those of a typical programmable logic controller (PLC). The controller provides the reliability of a PLC and the task flexibility and computing power of a motion controller. It also combines the capabilities of a PLC and multi-axis motion controller with such features as data portability around the plant, remote support and diagnostics, database logging support and ease of integration up to the SCADA level. The device at the core of an automation system can also interface with multiple commuication networks, such as RS-485, RS-232, RS-422, CAN, Ethernet and EtherNet/IP.
