A manufacturer of fungicides and herbicides asked Quadro to help improve the manufacturing process for one of its products. A certain percentage of its reacted product would re-agglomerate into moisture-laden lumps up to six inches large. When the material remained in this form, the reaction and drying process time increased and the material became so hard it could not be used. Moreover, material in this form was challenging to reduce into a usable size due to its sticky nature. Quadro’s solution was to use a Comil conical mill on the “overs” discharge port of the screening deck. Quadro performed a field trial and then rapidly implemented a permanent solution, which yields low dust, low noise, and uniform narrow particle distribution. It also provides the ability to process moisture-laden material without screen blinding. Quadro has 10 fully scalable Comil models available that range up to 120,000 lbs/hr.
