Muller Introduces Complete Load Containment Solutions at Pack Expo 2014

Muller, a manufacturer of both equipment and material load containment solutions, provided a single source of pallet wrapping solutions at PACK EXPO 2014 in Chicago, Illinois.

Chicago, Illinois — Muller, a manufacturer of both equipment and material load containment solutions, provided a single source of pallet wrapping solutions at PACK EXPO 2014 in Chicago, Illinois. For the first time, both Lachenmeier and Lock N’Pop solutions were also on display at the new Muller booth. The company introduced its patented Flexi-Rope option for Octopus machines as well as the Lachenmeier Xeros condensation control stretch hood film.

“Whether looking to retrofit existing machinery or find new solutions to challenging pallet wrapping applications, our booth is worth a visit,” says Michael Klear, Sales and Marketing Director, Muller.

Muller’s new Flexi-Rope system can be installed on existing or new Octopus rotary ring wrapping machines to meet growing demand for load breathability. In industries such as fresh produce, frozen foods and hot products, it is important that pallets have air flow to keep product fresh. Traditional wrapping methods cover the pallet entirely. In contrast, Flexi-Rope enables users to automatically apply ventilation between stretch film rotations. The system ropes film from both sides of the web, creating a thinner yet strong band of film as it secures the load. At the show, Muller showcased the Flexi-Rope  system on its acclaimed Octopus ‘S’ Series automatic wrapper.

“Flexi-Rope is a great example of how we are continuously creating options to meet growing demands,” says Klear. “We work closely with our customers to solve most all pallet wrapping needs.”

In addition, attendees to the Muller booth learned more about Lachemeier’s patent pending Xeros stretch hood film. Xeros optimally protects products from the outdoor elements and prevents condensation from forming inside the bag. The Xeros film technology utilizes a combination of proprietary features to effectively manage sunlight. Aside from eliminating condensation and unwanted elements from entering the bag, the technology also maintains barcode readability.

“With the increased market demands on food safety, agricultural processing companies and growers request produce boxes are wrapped in stretch bags that eliminate the risk for condensation to form which could result in mold and other related food safety hazards,” says Thomas Petersen, Global Sales Director, Lachenmeier. “Xeros is the first film of its kind to offer complete, 10-sided protection- keeping both the inside and outside layers of the load free from condensation, dust and other contaminates from entering.”

Lachenmeier also highlighted its patented application system that helps manufacturers optimally protect pallet loads while simultaneously reducing film usage 10-25%.
