Got a sweet tooth? If you live in the Chicago area, you're in luck!

Ferrara Candy Co. is building a 250,000-square-foot packaging facility packaging facility in Bolingbrook, a suburb 30 miles southwest of Chicago.

The candy company, known for its variety of confections, including Lemonheads, Trolli, Super Bubble Bubble Gum, Fruit Stripe Gum, Now & Laters and Atomic Fireballs, will erect the new facility alongside its existing 750,000-square-foot operations.

The candy-maker also says it is planning to upgrade its Bellwood facility to expand sale of the candy sold at Wal-Mart.

The two expansions are expected to create more than 100 jobs in the Chicago metropolitan area within the next year and a half.

Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar says village officials are very excited about the Ferrera expansion. He added that they are "thrilled they want to buy and do as much in America as possible."
