Coyuchi (www.coyuchi.com (http://www.coyuchi.com) ), the leading organic cotton and natural fiber bedding, bath linens and children's apparel company is bringing a fresh take on its collections this fall with the help of its new management team, led by CEO Karyn Barsa; Dawn Wolfe, Vice President of Sales, Drew DeFever, Vice President of Operations and Finance and Matt Levinthal, Marketing Director.

The brand plans to expand its product offering to include other natural fibers, along with the appointment of wholesale sales representatives in Atlanta, Dallas, New York City and Minneapolis.

After having led prominent LOHAS organizations that serve as role models for values-centered leadership around the globe, CEO Karyn Barsa brings a valuable range of experience and expertise to the company. She has served as President and CEO at Investors' Circle, CEO at Smith & Hawken, and COO/CFO at Patagonia. She has also been a featured speaker for numerous organizations, including the American Management Association, Business for Social Responsibility and Social Venture Network.

According to the 25-year industry veteran, the current retail landscape is ideal for the Northern California-based brand's 100% organic cotton and natural fiber bed, bath and baby products. "Coyuch delivers a great equation of organic cotton and pure natural fiber with luxury, sophisticated, styling for home textiles and children's apparel," says Barsa. "Coyuchi works well within the marketplace, because it provides natural products for people who nurture a closer relationship to nature through the choices they make for their home and family."

Decades of close involvement with sustainable enterprises leads Barsa to comment that "Coyuchi's values of bringing the benefits of organic cotton farming, and the production of natural fibers, free of harmful chemicals, to the fore will continue to have a significant impact upon the home textiles and baby apparel market."

As the first 100% organic cotton bedding company in North America, the brand has established a loyal following of people who seek its signature soft textiles, free of harmful chemicals while sparing the environment. Coyuchi works with a production facility in India, which sources much of its cotton from a certified organic and fair trade cotton farming cooperative of 6,500 family farmers. Both the farmer and the mill are certified fair trade so workers are paid a fair wage, giving them the ability to afford health care and education for their families.

Another reason for Coyuchi's success is that unlike most manufacturers, it does not use chemical softeners. The fabric is preshrunk through a mechanical process and then "calenderized," a process involving high heat and pressure, which flattens and polishes the surface so that the product looks shiny and feels very smooth.

Barsa and the management team has also brought in Laura Jo Wegman, Design Director, who previously spent five years as Head Designer at Pottery Barn Kids where she led the design and development for all bedding and bath textiles. Wegman brings to the Coyuchi product line a design aesthetic inspired by the natural beauty of Point Reyes, California where the company was founded. The line encompasses a rustic sophistication through the use of embroidery and natural fibers, creating a modern yet delicate experience.

ABOUT COYUCHI Coyuchi brings nature home with pure, natural fibers, minimally processed to preserve their essential qualities. Coyuchi developed the first line of organic home textiles rooted in nature, creating beautifully fashioned collections from 100% certified organic cotton. In 2010, CEO Karyn Barsa leads the company with a mission to inspire people to embrace nature as the essence of home by using natural fibers, free of harsh chemicals. To this end the company places a strong emphasis on the close relationship between nature and textile production and focuses on design inspired by nature, to bring an original line of home bedding and textiles.

It was 1991 in Point Reyes, surrounded by ocean and forest, beach and bluff, that Coyuchi first developed a line of home textiles rooted in nature. Its signature 100% organic cotton bedding, soon earned a loyal following among people who nurture a connection to the natural world in their lives and in their homes. Organic cotton bedding, bath linens and baby items are still at the heart of the Coyuchi collection. Most recently, the company has strengthened its offering by adding linen, cashmere and other pure, natural fibers as well as a full line of baby clothing and accessories.
