HENDERSON, Ky. (AP) — A South African aluminum firm has announced that it plans to build an $18.4 million manufacturing facility at the Henderson County Riverport.

The Gleaner (https://bit.ly/2f8HnGT ) reports that Hansens Aluminum LLC announced on Thursday that the 75,000-square-foot facility would bring 90 new jobs to the community.

Hansens business development manager Jared Pudney says the company is trying to open up to a broader market and expand its global capacity. He says the new operation will allow the company to add new automotive products to its range.

The company currently exports machined components to automotive suppliers worldwide, including Germany, China and Mexico. The new facility is expected to supply customers throughout the U.S. and Mexico.
