GREER, S.C. (AP) — BMW Manufacturing Co. in South Carolina has announced it's getting a new president and CEO.

Local media outlets report Knudt Flor, who currently oversees BMW Group Corporate Quality, will take over from Manfred Erlacher, who held the position for three years. Flor will officially assume Erlacher's duties at the Greer facility on Dec. 1.

Flor has been with BMW Group for the past 28 years, having worked in Greer, Munich, South Africa and China.

The company announced on Friday that Erlacher will move to a new role in Germany.

During Erlacher's tenure in Greer, production increased to more than 400,000 units per year, earning the Upstate plant recognition as BMW's largest in the world, by volume.
