ATHENS, Tenn. (AP) — Automotive components maker E & E Manufacturing of Tennessee has announced an expansion to its facility in Athens that will create 123 new jobs.

The $23.5 million investment will add 76,000 square feet to the plant that makes stamped and welded components.

Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd lauded the company's decision to expand in the state. About one out of every eight employed Tennesseans works in manufacturing.

E & E Manufacturing is headquartered in Plymouth, Michigan, where it also operates another plant. The company's customers include automakers and other suppliers.
