BOONEVILLE, Miss. (AP) — A coroner says a worker has died at a pipe manufacturing plant in northern Mississippi.

Prentiss County Coroner Greg Spark tells multiple news outlets that 39-year-old Michael Jason Mize died Wednesday at the North American Pipe plant in Booneville. An autopsy will be performed.

Booneville Police Chief Michael Ramey says a team from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration will investigate.

The parent company of North American Pipe, Westlake Chemical of Houston, Texas, issued a statement saying an employee had died in an accident at the plant and expressing condolences to the family.

The Booneville plant manufactures polyvinyl chloride pipe.
