LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) — Outdoor recreation company Vista Outdoors is planning a $70 million expansion to its ammunition plant in Lewiston.
The Lewiston Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2bT21Ln ) that the Idaho Department of Commerce announced Monday that Lewiston beat offers from Minnesota, where the company already has a plant, and other states.
The company plans to add more than 100 employees to a workforce that already numbers 1,400 as it expands its Southport facility. Company spokeswoman Amanda Covington says a second phase with another 37 jobs in $39 million in investment could occur over a longer period of time.
Both Nez Perce County and the state approved tax incentives for the company.
