CHARLOTTE, Mich. (AP) — Spartan Motors plans to build a new $5.5 million manufacturing plant in mid-Michigan.
The Lansing State Journal reports (https://www.lansingstatejournal.com/story/news/local/2016/03/21/spartan-motors-build-new-55m-plant-add-jobs-charlotte/82069410/ ) the Charlotte-based company says the 85,000-square-foot facility will manufacture and assemble diesel delivery trucks. The newspaper says the expansion likely will create about 55 new jobs.
The maker of chassis for fire trucks, RVs and other vehicles says the plant will be at its Charlotte campus. Construction is expected to begin next year.
