FARMINGTON, Conn. (AP) — An Italian company has acquired Farmington-based aerospace manufacturer New England Airfoil Products.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's office says Pietro Rosa TBM has agreed to keep the operation in Farmington and invest more than $10 million in the facility.

Pietro Rosa has also agreed to add 100 new jobs there over the next five years. The Farmington operation currently employs 19 people.

Pietro Rosa is a leading maker of compressor airfoils for gas turbines.

The company says the move allows Pietro Rosa to better reach its North American customer base and add manufacturing capacity.

In exchange, the Department of Economic and Community Development will provide Pietro Rosa with a $3 million low-interest loan.
