AB Volvo is looking into possible cooperation with Dongfeng Motor and Nissan Motor, the company said Monday.
AB Volvo has signed a non-binding framework agreement for investment in the heavy and medium-duty commercial business, which is currently under the Dongfeng and Nissan joint venture, Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. (DFG).
“We will now initiate more in-depth discussions about our possible future cooperation,” said Xu Ping, Board Chairman of DFG and Jorma Halonen, executive vice president and deputy CEO of AB Volvo.
Nissan, which had divested its holding in Nissan Diesel to AB Volvo, would focus on passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.
