Friday Food Funnies (On a Thursday): 4th of July Edition

With the impending Fourth of July holiday (which just so happens to be the greatest holiday of the year), what better way to prepare than with some jokes?

With the impending Fourth of July holiday (which just so happens to be the greatest holiday of the year), what better way to prepare than with some jokes?

Yes, we're aware today isn't Friday, but the Food Manufacturing staff will be taking a break tomorrow to enjoy a three-day weekend full of family, food, beer, fireworks and freedom. And we hope you are doing the same!

But while we are soaking up the rays and chugging down our beers, let us not forget what this day is really about: Independence. There is so much more to being an American citizen than just reciting the pledge or raising a flag. True patriotism is founded on great principles and supported by great virtue.

As U.S. Senator John Thune once said:

I believe our flag is more than just cloth and ink. It is a universally recognized symbol that stands for liberty, and freedom. It is the history of our nation, and it's marked by the blood of those who died defending it.

Now, to the laughs!

Q: What is Uncle Sam's favorite snack?
A: Fire-crackers!

Q: What kind of tea did the American colonists thirst for?
A: Liberty!

Q: How was the food at the Fourth of July picnic?
A: The hot dogs were bad, but the brats were the wurst!

Q: What was the patriots' favorite food in the Revolutionary War?
A: Chicken Catch-a-Tory.

That's all, folks! I hope you enjoy your long weekend with family and friends. If you're craving some more laughs, check out last week's Friday Food Funnies here.
