Food for Thought is celebrating its two-year anniversary this month, and one of our very first blog posts is one of the most popular to-date. In April of 2013, I wrote a piece titled “Food Companies Go Green With Eco-Friendly Packaging,” discussing its different types and benefits. Eco-friendly packaging is something that’s only gained more steam as time has passed.

Just last month, Packaging World’s senior editor Anne Marie Mohan wrote an article about how the food and beverage industry is driving the global green packaging market. She cited a recent study showing that the global green packaging market is expected to grow at about 8 percent over the next five years, with the food and beverage market positioned as the largest consumer of green packaging materials.
