Altra Nebraska LLC, subsidiary of the California-based Altra Inc., a developer of renewable fuel projects, said construction has begun at one of Nebraska’s largest ethanol production facilities.
The 360 acre facility in Carleton is a $200 million project and part of Altra’s goal of achieving 500 million gallons per year biofuel capacity across the nation.
When the facility is completed in 2008, it is expected to produce 110 million gallons per year and create 50 new jobs.
