Indian firm JSW Greentech Limited selected Siemens Xcelerator software to establish an integrated digital foundation for the development of commercial electric vehicles. The initiative will support JSW Greentech as it builds capabilities for electric buses, trucks and other sustainable mobility solutions under the brand AMPSTAR through its R&D center in Pune and its greenfield manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, India.

JSW Greentech designed its digital transformation program to connect engineering, product development and manufacturing processes through a unified product lifecycle management (PLM) strategy. The company aims to improve collaboration across teams, enhance engineering quality, reduce development cycle times and accelerate the delivery of new electric vehicles to the Indian market.

"Commercial EV manufacturers have a unique opportunity to establish digital transformation as a core business capability from the outset," Siemens Vice President and Managing Director for India Mathew Thomas said. "By connecting engineering, product lifecycle management and collaboration across the enterprise, JSW Greentech is creating a scalable digital foundation that can help accelerate innovation and support the efficient development of next-generation commercial electric vehicles."

JSW Greentech’s implementation includes Teamcenter software for product lifecycle management and Mendix software to support supplier and business process collaboration. Together, these technologies will help create a connected digital thread across product development while supporting greater visibility and traceability throughout the organization and the supply chain.

Siemens’ Teamcenter will provide the digital thread backbone, connecting sources of product and engineering information, supporting bill of materials (BOMs) and product structures and delivering capabilities for requirements management, program planning, change management and collaboration across mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines.

Additionally, the integration between Teamcenter and the company's ERP system will help synchronize engineering and business data across the organization while improving the flow of information between engineering and business functions. Teamcenter also supports supplier collaboration through a Mendix-based portal, extending digital processes beyond internal teams and across the broader product development and supplier ecosystem.
