General Motors celebrated the 30th anniversary of the GM EV1's first deliveries by displaying the 1990 Impact concept, one of the automaker's earliest electric milestones, to the Test Track presented by General Motors at EPCOT.

From now through mid-December 2026, guests can see the technology that sparked the company's electrification efforts.

As one of the first modern, purpose-built electric vehicles from a major automaker, the Impact was a critical learning tool that shaped the final production version of the EV1. GM noted that the concept's innovation also helped spark advanced software-defined vehicles, AI integration, battery chemistry, hands-free tech and new driver experiences.
