Airbus Lands Big Order for Army Helicopters

It is a militarized version of the EC145 rotorcraft.

 

The Airbus plant in Columbus, Mississippi just received a $122.6 million order from the Army.

  The contract calls for 15 UH-72 Lakota light utility helicopters.

The twin-engine helicopter has a four-bladed main rotor. It's a militarized version of the EC145 rotorcraft.

The UH-72 is used in everything from border security and disaster response, to reconnaissance.

Airbus expects to have the multi-mission helicopters completed by August 31, 2022.
