Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. opened the company’s largest single-use technology manufacturing site.

The 400,000-square-foot site cost $105 million and is located in Lebanon, Tennessee.

It will feature 92,000 square feet of clean room and a line for the Thermo Scientific DynaDrive Bioreactor.

The investment will help meet demand for bioprocessing materials used to develop vaccines and therapies.

A press release stated that the location would manufacture customizable, single-use BioProcess Containers and fluid transfer assembly systems.

Some 1,400 jobs will be added to the already 300 employed at the factory.

New jobs include procurement, engineering, warehousing, quality, and site leadership.

The Lebanon factory is a chapter in Thermo Fisher’s $650 million multi-year investment to bolster bioprocessing production capabilities.
