TRUMPF
Trumpf (Farmington, CT) introduced the X-Blast 2.0 for hot-formed component cutting. The X-Blast 2.0 is designed for high-efficiency laser cutting of safety-critical body structures and can be used in high-productivity 3D laser cutting machines within the automotive industry.
The X-Blast 2.0 provides a stable 3D laser cutting process with expanded nozzle-to-sheet clearance for hot-formed parts using the BrightLine Speed beam shaping standard.
Features:
- Design allows distance between nozzle and sheet to be increased to several millimeters
- In industrial testing, remained operational for over three months without replacement
- Enables reliable use of compressed air as cutting gas in 24/7 operations
- Utilizes advanced beam shaping to achieve higher cutting speeds with lower laser power
- Combines with latest generation of Trumpf fiber lasers to lower power consumption of beam source and reduce total energy requirement per component.
- Suitable for automotive, 24/7 high-productivity manufacturing and cost-optimized hot forming processes.
