Lubrizol
Lubrizol (Cleveland, OH) announced the launch of HybriCal, a lithium-free grease thickener formulation designed to meet the performance needs of modern industrial applications.
HybriCal is based on anhydrous calcium and provides an alternative to lithium hydroxide for grease manufacturers and end users.
Features:
- Meets High-Performance Multiuse (HPM) Grease Specification from National Lubricating Grease Institute (NLGI)
- Requires lower processing temperatures compared to lithium-based greases
- Reduces dehydration time during production
- Enables faster production and reduced energy consumption
- Suitable for wide range of applications, including bearings, mining equipment and general manufacturing
- Provides option independent of pricing volatility and regulatory uncertainty in lithium market
- Not impacted by European Chemicals Agency’s classification of lithium hydroxide as Category 1A reproductive toxin
