MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Industrial machinery maker Rockwell Automation Inc. said Tuesday it has purchased a British company that services industrial automation equipment.
Rockwell didn't disclose the terms of its deal to buy Lektronix, which is based in Cannock, U.K. Rockwell said Lektronix is a leading service provider in Europe and Asia.
"This acquisition accelerates the growth of the Rockwell Automation service business in Europe and further expands our customer presence in emerging economies," Hedwig Maes, president of Rockwell Automation's Europe, Middle East and Africa region, said in a statement.
Lektronix services programmable logic controllers, electric motor drives, industrial computers, and computerized numerical control equipment. Its customers include manufacturers from food and beverage to heavy industries, the statement said.
Lektronix has about 290 employees across 11 facilities and eight repair centers in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, the statement said.
