Temperature Monitoring Patch May Be Coming to Your Job

Just wear this thermometer like a Band-Aid.

As businesses cautiously open their doors amid the ongoing virus crisis, many are concerned about managing workers and customers who could be carrying the virus.

Some have instituted temperature checks to identify one potential symptom of coronavirus or flu. A group of tech companies are currently working to develop a temperature monitoring device that’s different from a typical thermometer.

The device is a patch about the size of a Band-Aid, and the user wears it on their skin. The patch wirelessly connects to a smartphone, where the wearer’s body temperature can be monitored throughout the day.

The group of companies is emphasizing the tremendous need for pre-diagnostic screening tools.

They are also attempting to utilize artificial intelligence to analyze sounds, including whether a cough can indicate COVID-19.
